About Hogy Lure Company

My name is Capt Mike Hogan and I'm proud to introduce Hogy Lure Company which offers a line of custom hand poured soft baits. Our soft plastic baits feature superior action and ease of rigging.

I designed these baits while guiding on Cape Cod for striped bass. I wanted a life-like soft bait that mimicked larger baits and one that fished well at both high and low speeds. I also wanted one that rigged quickly with a tandem hook configuration which would greatly minimize short strikes. In the process, I spent many months working on the special blend of soft plastic and finally came up with Hogys, a line of softbaits designed to meet the following criteria: 

More Fish: Increased hook ups due to tandem hooks and Hogy Quick Rig System on larger baits.

Ease of Use: Rig in seconds, on or off the water.

Castability: Our tapered designs ensure this.

Practical: Non Bleeding colors so that Hogys of all colors can be stored together.

Lifelike action: Due to our superior soft plastic.

Durability: Our proprietary plastic is down right tough!

Although Hogys were initially designed to catch striped bass, their action is universal in the sense that they will mimic all similarly sized bait fish appropriate to the lure. We have caught many species in our travels on Hogys and have had reports of many more, of which we're very proud.

Hogys are still hand poured in the USA.
