From the tip of the tail to the tip of the claw, this lifelike soft plastic lobster is 8 inches long and weighs a little over 4 ounces. This softy is for the trophy hunter and we recommend at least a 1-ounce jig head rigged Maine Style, which means from below and out the top of the tail The plastic in the claws is so buoyant that the lobster will rise into a defensive position when bounced along the bottom. Highly recommended for anglers targeting big stripers in the Northeast and for reef fishing in the South for cubera snapper and huge grouper.

Action: We view the Hogy Soft Bait Lobster as a bottom Bouncer rigged with a jig head through the tail. The plastic (4 ounces  of it) will float the lobster up in a defensive pose as last seen by a predator as it slurps one up. Not for the faint of heart, this is a big bait and requires patience. Fish it slow and hang on!

Versatility: Imitators tend to be less versatile as it is replicating just one thing. Use the Hogy Lobster when you're trying to match the hatch or offering something more appetizing than what's around.
